Flush DNS

How to flush the DNS on your local PC.

Sometimes the local DNS cache will cause you to be redirected to an incorrect web site. This usually happens if 1 or more DNS records have been changed on the domains nameserver. The computer remembers the old IP records and has not automatically updated.

Clearing out the computer’s local DNS forces it to update the DNS record for the specific web site.

First click on the start button and type in CMD and hit enter.

This opens a DOS command window.

Type in ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter.

If this doesn’t fix the DNS issue, restart all the network equipment on your network.

If this still doesn’t fix the issue then the resolution lies elsewhere.
