FTTP Services
FTTP (Fibre to the Premise) is the replacement for ADSL, FTTC and other copper based internet services. It is the fastest, most stable internet connection that’s currently available to UK homes and businesses.
Soon, this will be the only way internet can be delivered by land line as the old copper services are being withdrawn by Openreach. In some cases, wolesellers and resellers (like us) will have prices for the old service raised by quite a bit in order to encourage existing clients to replace their old system with FTTP.
FTTP is not line length dependant so the speed you order is going to be very close to the speed you get. Also, the ping times are greatly reduced so VoIP and video conferencing, work much better.
Speeds move from the FTTC max of 80Mb right up to a potential 1,000Mb to cover playing music, video streaming, video conferencing and so much more.
Prices are generally higher but offset by the savings you make by not having to pay line rental any more.
Just to clarify, the FTTP service is NOT part of an upgrade to the old service, it is completely independant and you can have both services at the same time. Contracts with the old service do NOT carry over when you install FTTP.
