Our FTTP service does not require copper cables into your premises. If you are upgrading from Copper to Fibre, you may transfer your existing landline phone number to VoIP.

Do NOT cancel your copper service until the FTTP is active and working. Part of the process of transferring your phone number VoIP takes care of ceasing your telephone line contract and stopping your payments to your current provider.

If you cease your copper line before transferring your phone number to VoIP, there is a fair chance you will not be able to get your old number back – no matter who provided it in the first place.

Static IP

If requested, we can provide your unique static IP for £5.00 / month + VAT.

Openreach engineer install

Teh Openreach engineer installs the Optical Network Transceiver (ONT) and optionally connects your router to verify the service is working. They are not responsible for your internal wiring or anything beyond the ONT.

Megganet engineer visit

There should be no need for a Megganet engineer to visit as the router we supply should work out of the box. However, if you do need a Megganet engineer to visit to complete your FTTP installation, you will get a full system wide optimisation and quality of service check, risk assessment and internal premises wiring recommendation as well as Wi-Fi advice. There may be a fee for an engineer callout but we will advise you well in advance.

Do NOT press the reset button on your internet equipment

Do NOT press the ‘Reset’ button on any of your internet equipment as this will wipe its settings and your cause your equipment to fail. We will then need to reprogram the equipment to get it to work again. This is not a warranty repair and we will charge for a callout and reprogramming the router at our normal rates – so please avoid the reset buttons!

Equipment we use

As part of our install, you should receive a Welcome email with all your your cloud control panel username and password so you can see your order history, line statistics etc. You will also get your FTTP username and password to use if you have a compatible FTTP router.

We sell several FTTP routers for our FTTP services.

  • No router. Select this if you wish to use your current router (if it is FTTP compatible) or if you wish to provide your own router. Professional users who require a professional router should chose this and phone us for our best recommendation.
  • FREE Router. We can provide a suitable router for the service you have ordered. These remain the property of Megganet and must be returned at the end of your contract.
  • TP-Link Archer C50 V4 Wireless Router. Suitable for FTTP and SoGEA services with speeds up to 80Mb download – £36.99 inc VAT.
  • TP-Link ARCHER AX12 – Wi-Fi 6 Router. This Wi-Fi 6 router is ideal for the very busy environment, heavy usage including 4k streaming compatible. £55 inc VAT.

Our preferred business router is the ER605 (£35) for the non wireless and the ER706W (£135) for high end Wi-Fi 6. The ER706W-4G (£174) is recommended if a 4g failsafe is needed. For best performance, an external antenna may be required for the ER706W-4G. All these Business routers support several internet services for failsafe, VPN, industrial grade firewall, SIP optimization, up to 1,000 users, multiple VLANs (and hardware LAN’s) and full Omada compliance for cloud management.

Yes, we also provide and support DrayTek routers by request.

Routers purchased from us will be provided fully programmed with the Wi-Fi key clearly written on the top of the case for easy access.

If you need a router with particular specifications in mind, contact us and we may be able to provide and pre program it.

Cease an FTTP service

If you need to completely cease an FTTP service there will be a cessation fee of £38 + VAT. This cessation fee imposed by our wholesaler. If you change the FTTP service to another type of service (for example, ADSL, SoGEA, FTTC etc), the charge will still stand.

All outstanding months fees (if any) will need to be paid in full.

If you normally pay by Direct Debit, the charge will be invoiced and paid automatically.

Recycling valuable equipment

Occasionally, we may use quality refurbished Routers to keep costs down and reduce waste.

Payment

Initial payments can be paid by Credit Card and all on going payments are to be paid by Direct Debit.

Unless otherwise stated, prices exclude VAT.
