Microsoft exchange using default Android app
The best way to get your Microsoft Exchange email on an Android phone (or other Android device), is to use the default built in, Android app.
Gmail works with Microsoft Exchange and is built into all Android devices.
First, make sure you have a good internet speed on your Android device. If you are in a weak signal area, the configuration may fail.
Then, please make sure you have the correct email address and password. You can verify these by going to ‘outlook.com‘ and entering them. If your credentials are correct, your email should appear.
There are several different versions of Android software and I have 2 techniques here.
Technique 1
- First select ‘Settings‘ then select ‘Passwords & accounts‘. It may be also be called just ‘Accounts‘ or ‘Users & accounts‘ on your Android.
- At the bottom, select ‘Add account‘.
- Select ‘Exchange‘.
- Enter your full email address.
- Enter your full email address. (the device may take a minute or so to acquire the appropriate credentials).
Technique 2
- First select ‘Settings‘ then select ‘Accounts and backup‘.
- Select ‘Manage accounts‘.
- Select ‘Add account‘ (you may need to scroll down to the bottom of the screen to see this).
- Select ‘Exchange‘.
- Enter your full email address. (The device may take a minute or so to acquire the appropriate credentials).
- Enter password and give the device some time to establish the connection and start syncing your email.
Checking your Microsoft Exchange email
The new Hosted Exchange email address is added to your Gmail as an additional email account. To read your Hosted Exchange email, open your Gmail app and work away.
